Netflix Ends Free Subscription Plan in Kenya

    MuindiBy Muindi2023-10-04No Comments1 Min Read
Netflix, a video streaming service, regained its momentum after gaining 1.75 million subscribers for the January-March 2023 period.

Netflix, a video streaming service, will no longer offer its free subscription plan to Kenyan users, a significant change in its business model.

    Effective November 1, 2023.

The free plan was a groundbreaking initiative by Netflix, with Kenya being the first country globally to benefit from such an offer.

The free plan allowed users to access a limited range of content without requiring a paid subscription.

Users will now have to transition to one of the platform’s paid plans, with prices starting at KES 200 per month.

This strategic shift aligns with Netflix’s global strategy of expanding its presence and growing its subscriber base.
